Mr. Paterson is legally blind.  The cane, he says, is his way of telling Americans with any type of disability to stand tall, and be proud.  Don't feel "diminished or insecure," in his words. That is a message I take all over the country.Remember, we all fall down in life, the question is do you get back up? Or put another way, It does not matter in life where we start at.....It's where you are going.
